What a Win!

Several new faces were on hand, this Thanksgiving weekend, to watch our beloved Tigers put the icing on the cake in a nail-biting victory over KU!  Our new friends from New Hampshire brought two cases of canned goods for our food drive, already putting us close to the 63 lbs we just donated!

The photos, below, are of the recent watch party.  There's even one in there from our trip to Plimoth Plantation a few weeks ago.

MU/KU Watch Party, 11/28

Come join The Boston 'Zou as we cheer on the Tigers in Mizzou's annual Thanksgiving Showdown against the Kansas Jayhawks (currently 5-6, lol)! We realize several of you are fortunate enough to head back to Missouri, or your respective homes, for the holiday. However, if you are in town, please extend your Thanksgiving celebrations into the weekend with your local Mizzou family!  As always, we'll be collecting non-perishable items for The Greater Boston Food BankThanks to the efforts of our current members and friends, we recently donated 63 lbs of food!!  Event details below.

Family Trip to Plimoth Plantation, 11/15

One of our goals at The Boston 'Zou is to create opportunities to get together and enjoy the unique experience of living in this very special area of the country. In an effort to further that goal, we have planned a family outing to Plimoth Plantation for Sunday, November 15th. For those of you not familiar with Plimoth Plantation, it is a living, breathing re-enactment of the life of both settlers and native people of the 1620's. (If you're a Massachusetts native you probably took a school field trip there as a kid!). It is one of the top tourist destinations in Massachusetts and is unlike any other attraction in America. With Thanksgiving coming up, we thought this would a great way to get into the spirit.

We have secured a group rate (pending a group of 15 or more) for this trip and the prices are as follows:

Adults, $20.40
Students/children (under 18), $11.90

We will meet at the Plimoth Plantation parking lot at 12:30, and make our way in. Then, we invite you to join us for fun and food at Cabby Shack at 30 Town Wharf in Plymouth at 3:30. This fantastic establishment is right on the Plymouth waterfront and has some spectacular views. They are very family friendly...and Mizzou friendly. There will be some special discounts for us that day!

For this event we will need you to RSVP no later than 11/8/09 to secure the group rate. You can do so by shooting us an e-mail at thebostonzou@gmail.com and telling us how many adults and children will be attending. Also, please tell us what town you're coming from, in case you have interest in car pooling with fellow Tigers in the area.

And a Bully For Ol' Mizzou,
The Boston 'Zou

We Won!

We knew we couldn't start the conference schedule at 0-4.  Thanks to all who showed up for the Mizzou vs. Colorado watch party at Game On.  A great time was had by all.  Just check out a couple of the pics, below, including one of our very own interpretation of "Miss Kansas".  :-)  And, oh! We found Waldo!

David, as "Miss Kansas"
(If only you could see the footwear!)

Yes, we found Waldo!

A huge early-game lead had the party-goers very happy.

Please email us and share your thoughts and ideas for future events and venues. We're currently exploring options for regular watch parties.  Due to the history of other alumni groups with certain sports bars, we've not been the game party priority.  We'd love to have one location everyone can count on as our watch party "home".  We'd also like to keep in mind convenience of location and Boston's biggest caveat: parking!  Please share your suggestions!

As always, GO TIGERS!!
