Homecoming Day of Service, 10/1

Tigers!
We all know Mizzou's spirit of service is unparalleled, especially during the Homecoming season where our beloved alma mater sets records for such things as blood and food donations. To that end, the Mizzou Alumni Association is engaging its chapters nation-wide in a Homecoming Day of Service on Saturday, October 1, 2011. Please join The Boston 'Zou as we take part in this effort at Saturday/Sunday's Bread.

Saturday/Sunday's Bread is a Boston soup kitchen with the mission of providing hot, healthy meals in a safe and inviting atmosphere, free from society’s prejudices and judgments, in an environment free of racial, cultural or religious stereotypes. It is an interfaith, interracial, interdenominational activity of people concerned with the hungry in the Boston area. Saturday/Sunday’s Bread is an entirely volunteer-run organization that has been providing meals to the hungry for over 25 years.

Saturday/Sunday's Bread is located at
St. John the Evangelist
35 Bowdoin St.
Boston, MA

This volunteer shift is from 12:30 to about 4 p.m. Volunteers will set up the dining area, prepare the meal, greet and serve diners, and help cleanup. Guests are served from 2:30 to 3:30. Cleanup follows from 3:30 to 4:00 or 4:15. The location is easily accessible by T (Bowdoin on the Blue Line, Government Center on the Green Line), and there is also nearby parking available. Teenaged-children may attend.
We will follow the service event by a fun social activity nearby, details TBA.
Please RSVP to TheBostonZou@gmail.com or by responding to the Facebook invitation. Hope to see you there!

And a Bully for Ol' Mizzou
