Thanks to the generous support of our local Tigers, we have made it onto the pages of BostonChannel.com! In an effort to remain connected to our beloved alma mater, local Boston area Tigers have adopted the cause of fighting hunger by donating and collecting non-perishable food items to benefit agencies like the Greater Boston Food Bank.

The Battle of the Unbeatens!
Thanks to our big win over Texas A&M, last weekend (and thanks to those who joined us for the watch party), our beloved Tigers are still undefeated and currently ranked #11 in the BCS Poll!
As most of you know, our University boasts the first and largest student-run Homecoming celebration in the country. And, if you're unable to join your local Boston 'Zou members in Columbia, what more fitting way to honor that tradition from afar than to watch our Mizzou Football Tigers host the undefeated, and top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners, this Saturday, October 23?
ESPN's College GameDay is taking a trip to Columbia and we invite you to join us as we cheer on our esteemed alma mater while the game airs nationally on ABC at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. Below are the watch party details.

Thanks to your generous support, we've donated 47 pounds of food to the Greater Boston Food Bank! We ask for your continued support and invite you to bring at least two cans of non-perisable food items. Below is a video from Mizzou's 2010 Homecoming Tiger Food Fight. 13,952 cans of food were collected at Mizzou to benefit the Central Missouri Food Bank. Go Tigers!

Tigers Take on the Aggies!
Thanks to everyone who came out for the Mizzou/Colorado watch party on October 9. Tiger football is now 5-0! Mizzou is also ranked 3rd in the nation for Points Against, thanks to our recent shut-out of the Beefaloes, I mean, Buffaloes.
We had a great turnout on Saturday, including both veteran and new faces. A special thanks to all who brought non-perishable food items, benefitting the Greater Boston Food Bank. We appreciate your commitment to serving our local community.
Folks seem to really enjoy the Brighton Beer Garden. And, they enjoy having us! So, to that end, we shall return to the BBG for our next watch party, this Saturday, October 16! Details below.

Let the Conference Play Begin!
The Tigers are on a roll! Pre-season..err..non-conference play has proven to be tremendously successful for the Tigers, as they've gone 4-0 thanks to the likes of Blaine Gabbert and TJ Moe. Mizzou barreled over McNeese State (50-6) and, most recently, Miami of Ohio (51-13) earning them the ranking of 14th in the nation for their stellar Points Against. They are also ranked 22nd in the country for their passing yardage (thanks to that cannon Gabbert calls his right arm). So, why they're only ranked 23rd in the USA Today poll-- and are not even on the AP's radar--is beyond us!
Now it's time to put the meat grinder to the Colorado Buffaloes! Join the Boston 'Zou for our next watch party on October 9! Details below.

Arch Rivalry Wrap-Up
any thanks to all our fellow Tigers and guests who joined us at Brighton Beer Garden on Saturday for a big Mizzou win in the Arch Rivalry season opener against Illinois. We had a bit of a shaky start, as our original venue (Union St. in Newton) did not have the game televised as they'd previously confirmed. But, in true Mizzou fashion and not to be defeated, we were warmly welcomed by the Brighton Beer Garden and their fantastic wait staff & delicious menu. (For those of you who joined us and have a Delta Skymiles Dining account, you may be pleasantly surprised to see that you earned miles at the event if you happened to use your registered credit/debit card!)
The fantastic season-opener turnout yielded over 25 attendees to witness the Tigers rally in the second half, scoring 20 points, to top the Illini 23-13. Our generous alumni and friends also donated twenty pounds worth of food (no packaging included in weight), benefitting the Greater Boston Food Bank!
Check out a couple of photos, below:
Stay tuned for upcoming event information for our political media coverage talk and other family-friendly activities!

Football is Back!
It has been a hot and busy summer! We are excited that fall will soon be upon us (despite the still very summery temps) and that means...you guessed it...football is back! Now, we're very excited as we have a number of new things on deck for this upcoming year (inclulding non-sports-related events, such as an upcoming political media coverage talk by a local news anchor, and Mizzou alum--details to come). But first, FOOTBALL!
There's plenty of street parking and it's right next to the Newton Center stop on the D Train of the MBTA Green Line! As we have a sincere focus on serving our community, we are encouraging all attendees to bring at least two non-perishable food items, to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank.
If you cannot attend, but would still like to be involved, we want to hear from you! We are constantly seeking feedback on ways in which we can serve our members and surrounding community.
Don't forget, Friday, September 3, is College Colors Day! Wear your Black & Gold to represent Ol' Mizzou!

Mizzou and March Madness
Hey everyone!
Mizzou will be facing Clemson at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, March 19. Because of the timing, many of us will not be able to participate in a formal gathering. However, if you're lucky enough to have Fridays off, or happen to be calling in sick due to a tremendously long St. Patrick's Day hangover (those of us from Boston know it's possible), we encourage you to head on over to Sports Depot (Allston) for an informal gathering. We have not reserved the banquet room. But, there's usually ample space on weekday afternoons to grab a sizeable table with a good view of the appropriate big screen.
We are in the process of confirming the banquet room at Sports Depot for Sunday, should Mizzou make it to Round 2. Once we know where we stand in the tournament, we'll be sure to post an update on any formal shindig.
